Gospel Meeting at Upper Macabulos church of Christ, Upper Macabulos, San Miguel, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; 15 SOULS BAPTIZED

By God's grace, we have able to continue preaching the Gospel of Christ in different places even to the mountainous areas where many congregations of the Church of Christ established. We are thankful for His providence to make this possible and to the brethren who extend their help for our expenses.  

We were invited to preach on a Gospel Meeting at Upper Macabulos church of Christ, Upper Macabulos, San Miguel, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. Brother Fernando Aying and his younger brother, Ruel Aying, preached here for many years. In this congregation also we found the oldest members of the Church of Christ here in the province of Davao del Sur. Some of them died already like brother Walan Aying and Ronald Balawag. Some of them also were bedridden and very old, like brother Lomundo Balawag, an 88 years old preacher. Through these men, the work in this place and in neighboring community had grown and many souls were converted into Christ. 

Their greatest problem now is the long drought they experienced since October 2015. Their crops died due to severe heat and very little rains. Massive rats also eat their plants so many of them don't have enough harvest. They are pleading for help to the brethren who are able. Please pray for them and help them.

Many brethren had attended and were edified. Many alien sinners also had attended and heard the truth. After preaching the Gospel of Christ, 15 souls submitted to baptism and we give all the glory to God.

Many preachers from different places also had attended. They are brother Mariano Eman, Jessie Esteban and Neil Salutan. Please pray for them also because they are preaching in a critical area where many armed rebels lived. Every now and then, military operations were made and our brethren were very much affected and were afraid for astray bullets. May we not forget them on our prayers.

 

 

 

Funeral Service at Upper Saguing church of Christ, Upper Saguing, Makilala, Cotabato

Our sister in Christ, Minda M. Agam, a faithful member in Saguing church of Christ, Upper Saguing, Makilala, Cotabato died on Feb. 7, 2016. She was "stroke" and was bedridden for 2 years. They were poor and could not buy all her medicines and could not afford for the hospitalization. But even in her hard condition, she still attended worship services carried by his sons. 

Her husband, brother Pedro Agam, is one of the preachers in Upper Saguing church of Christ together with brother Sergio Latimbang. They preached here for many years and until now, this congregation is active in God's work.

My father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, preached the word of God and comfort the family of our late sister, Minda Agam. Although they were filled with grief because of the loss of their great mother, on the other side, they were thankful for the hope Christ gives for everyone who remains faithful. They were very thankful for the message they heard and were edified in their faith. We also gave some amount of money to help for the burial expenses.

The preachers who cooperated with us in this work were brother Joseph A. Notarte (who lead the songs), Francisco Pampangan, Noli Caa, Sergio Latimbang and I (Joshua A. Notarte).

 

 

Bible Study at Provincial Jail in Matti, Digos City, Davao del Sur

 Feb. 11, 2016 @ 9:00 - 10:00 AM

Another day of bible study with the prisoners in Davao del Sur Provincial Jail or Provincial Rehabilation Center (PRC) in Matti, Digos City, Davao del Sur. More than 500 prisoners detained and more of them were interested to study the bible with us. We always ensure that the Gospel message we preached will always be what Christ authorized. We tell the audience plainly the word of God and that's the reason why they become more interested and willing to obey. They are also starting to ask for study materials and more teaching about the doctrine of Christ. Please help us pray that God may give us great harvest of souls in this jail.

This time, brother Jonathan A. Notarte, my elder brother in flesh preached the word of God.

We preached the word of God on the Gospel Meeting at Palusok church of Christ, Palusok, Mua-an, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato where brother Carlos Anoling and Danny Dacillo preaches for many years together with their father in flesh, Alejandro Anoling Sr. who also preaches in Agco church of Christ, Agco, Ilomavis, Kidapawan City.

Training Young Preachers in Digos City church of Christ, Roxas Ext., Zone III, Digos City, Davao del Sur

(11) "These things command and teach. (12) Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:11-12

We are grateful to see young men willing to preach the truth. As we all know, that they will be the next generation to continue spread the Gospel of Christ that saves souls. We need them and so, we should teach the pure word of God that edify and rooted their faith.

I (Joshua A. Notarte) and brother Jonathan Notarte trained these four (4) young preachers who starting to help in preaching. One of them is our youngest brother in flesh, Cebe Arjay A. Notarte (14 years old) who helped in preaching every Sunday evening worship in Digos City church of Christ, Roxas Ext., Zone III, Digos City, Davao del Sur. 

The other 3 young preachers came from Datal Nebong church of Christ, Datal Nebong, Tagaytay, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. It is a very mountainous place and many rebels like New People's Army lived there. From time to time, military operations happened in their area. The brethren were very much affected and were afraid. But on the other hand, they continue to serve God and remain faithful in the Church of Christ. And these young men came here in Digos City church of Christ to study the bible for a preacher training where they brought their own bibles.

First, I preached the word of God about the preacher's life. I focused on the life of Jesus and his teaching where he is our master teacher. He effective preached because he knows the scriptures very well. A good preparation leads to a better preaching.

We also requested them to preach in front of us and there we found the things that needs to be improved. We were also thankful because they are willing to be corrected. They also have many questions asked regarding the Lord's Supper and Giving. We do what we can to help them. Please pray for them.
