My wife, Glaiza L. Notarte, had an accident

"God tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked; that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care for another. And whether one suffereth, all suffer . . . or one member is honored, all rejoice . . ." 
(1 Cor. 12:24-26).

My wife, Glaiza L. Notarte, had an accident while she was riding a tricycle going to her work in Davao City. The tricycle that she was riding was bumped to a taxi that is picking a passenger. Among all the passengers, my wife had more serious injuries and wounds. My wife is 4 months pregnant and during the accident, her stomach was painful. She was rushed to Davao Doctor's Hospital and was put directly to the Delivery Room. But thanks to God, after an hour, the doctor declares that our son was safe in her womb after all the medical examinations and observations.

The owner of the tricycle is very poor. He could not pay the damages even the whole amount of the hospital expenses. But even I also is not capable in paying our hospital expenses. I must find and plead help to others. Thankfully, my father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, help us financially for our hospital expenses. I and my wife, would like to give thanks to all who pray for her immediate recovery.

Prayers for Sister Josefina Notarte and his family

Trust God and have faith in prayers will help us in times of sickness. As what the bible says, "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him" (James 5:14-15).

Our sister in Christ, Josefina Notarte, was confined at Reagan Memorial Hospital, Tagum City due to complicated illness. She is the wife of our co-preacher, brother Rudy Coercy A. Notarte, who is also sick since he was stroke due to high blood pressure last January 19, 2016. He is still under recovery and we are thankful that he was able to preach last Sunday worship for the first time since he was stoke. 

The daughter of brother Edward Notarte was also confined in the same hospital at Reagan Memorial Hospital in Tagum City. Brother Edward is helping in preaching at Tagum City church of Christ, Tagum, Davao del Norte.

They asked for our prayers and help. They already spent hundreds of thousands because of the hospital expenses and medicines. They have great debts because of their hard condition. We prayed that God may touch the hearts of the brethren who are able.

My father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, with my mother, Estrella Notarte, and brothers, Joseph Notarte, Jonathan Notarte, Cebe Arjay Notarte, and sister Edden Notarte had visited and pray for them.

Jesus knew that prayer could help! He knew that prayer worked and that is why he prayed and God had answered his prayers on many occasions. Let us not underestimate the importance of this avenue of help. If Jesus knew prayer could help, shouldn't we seek it more often as a way of helping others?

Please pray for our sister in Christ, Jiji Rose Matampole Grengea who was rushed to the Emergency Room at MCDC Hospital, Digos City due to motorbike accident with her husband at about 7:00 PM on Nov. 11, 2016. They are on their way home to J.P. Laurel church of Christ, J.P. Laurel, Malungon, Sarangani Province when the front tire of their motorbike has exploded. Sister Jiji Rose is a daughter of our co-preacher, Pedrito Matampole. Her husband's brother, Ringene Grengea, is a preacher also at Sulop church of Christ, Sulop, Davao del Sur.

God demands personal religion not proxy religion. You cannot visit the sick and needy by putting money into the collection plate at church. The preacher cannot do the visiting that you are commanded to do, nor the elders, not even the church. Jesus promised, "inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me" (Mt. 25:40).

The Gospel of Christ was continually preached at Davao del Sur Provincial Jail (also known as Provincial Rehabilitation Center) in Matti, Digos City. This time, we preached in the FEMALE quarter where many prisoners are also interested in hearing the truth that saves our souls. Brother Julie Divine A. Notarte preached the word of God. The preachers who cooperated were brother Joseph Notarte (who lead the songs), Jonathan Notarte and Ben Dulong.

I was not able to attend the bible study at the Provincial Jail because my wife, Glaiza Notarte, was very sick and was advised by a doctor to be admitted at the hospital immediately. For several times, she was brought to the Emergency Room at Davao Doctor's Hospital and I spent about Php 4,000 each month for the medical examinations, check-up, laboratories and medicines. According to the doctor's finding, she has Urinary Tract Infection. She was confined at Digos Doctor's Hospital and we are praying that God may provide our needs. Please pray for her.

When apostle Paul was a prisoner of the Roman government, he wrote to the saints at Philippi, saying, "Rejoice in the Lord always: again I say,rejoice" 
(Phil. 4:4). Earlier, Paul had written: "Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord . . . For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus" (3:1,3).

We are glad to see the brethren still attending on our weekly bible study with them at Davao del Sur Provincial Jail or Provincial Rehabilitation Center in Matti, Digos City, Davao del Sur. But aside from the brethren, many more prisoners are also interested and thankful to study the scriptures in searching for the truth. We pray that God touches their hearts to obey the Gospel. This time, brother Julie Divine A. Notarte preached the word of God. I (Joshua Notarte) lead the songs and Ben Dulong has cooperated.

After our bible study, we attended our co-preacher and an orphan, Joey Bilang. He is very sick and so my father, Julie Notarte, brought him at Llanos Hospital, Digos City. He is one of the Bilang orphans we've been taking care of since they are little children until now. One of them died already. Brother Joey still schooling and is staying in our home. He is also helping us in preaching especially during the worship services. Please pray for him.

The law and example of Christ teach us to care for one another and to share our burdens and our strength with one another (Gal. 6:2). When one member of the body of Christ suffers, "all the members suffer with it" rather than ignoring it. When one member rejoices in good fortune, "all the members rejoice with it" rather than experiencing envy and strife (1 Cor. 12:25-26).

My elder brother in flesh, Jonathan A. Notarte, was confined at Digos Doctor's Hospital due to high fever caused by his wound on his foot that did not heal for a month already. He tried several medicines even herbal medicines but still there was no improvement. Until he got sick for several days and so my father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, brought him to the hospital for proper medication. Please pray for him. He is a preacher at Manga church of Christ, Manga, Matanao, Davao del Sur and help in preaching in our radio program.

Many of us here are also sick. I am also sick since August 2016 and could not work well because of cough, fever and colds. Sometimes I feel better but will return if I could not take medicines. My father, Julie Notarte, and my mother, Estrella Notarte, have the same sickness and suffering with it. My wife, Glaiza Notarte, was also sick. Every now and then, she was brought to the doctor for medical check-up since she was 2 months pregnant and we are careful for any medicines she takes. 

Many more brethren are sick and most of them were not brought to the hospital because of financial loss. Some of them died due to different illness due to lack of medicines. My father receives many text messages and phone calls from the brethren who are asking for help. We pray that God touches the hearts of those who are able to help. We are also asking for prayers to all the brethren who are sick and in difficult situation.

⁸ We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from this body and to live with the Lord. ⁹ So whether we are at home or away from home, our goal is to be pleasing to him.

Our sister in Christ, Lileth Dialane, died after giving birth of her first son. She undergo cesarean operation in one of the hospitals in General Santos City but since they don't have money, she secretly decided not to buy any of the prescribed medicines and went home riding a motorcycle but after few hours, she died. Sister Lileth was a member in Kalonbarak church of Christ, Kalonbarak, Poblacion, Malungon, Sarangani Province. She was baptized during our first time in preaching the Gospel of Christ in their area. Please pray for her family especially to her son, Lei Andrea Dialane in this difficult time of their lives.

We went there to comfort her family through the word of God. I (Joshua A. Notarte) was requested to preach during the last funeral service until the burial. Brother Joseph Notarte  and Jonathan Notarte lead the songs. The preachers who cooperated with us were brother Pedrito Matampole and Galacio Simplicio.

Many brethren in Kalonbarak church of Christ are sick during the time we visit the place. One of them is their preacher, brother Galacio Simplicio, who is already half blinded. One of his eyes need medical operation but could not able due to financial loss. He is preaching for many years and help established several local congregations of the Church of Christ. We went also to Malungon Municipal Hospital and visit the son of sister Irish Sumagaysay. Her child's name is Ram Sumagaysay. They are both sick and don't have money for their hospital bills. They don't even have food to eat the time we visited them. We give some amount of help from our own pocket. Please pray for them.

Brother Rudy Coercy A. Notarte still under medication & We comfort the family of our bereaved relatives in Tagum City, Davao del Norte

Our brother in Christ and co-preacher, Rudy Coercy A. Notarte, still under medication since he was sick on January 19, 2016 due to "Cerebral Stroke." They already spent thousands of pesos for the hospital bills, medicines and continued reflexology massage although there are times they could not buy medicines and have to stop the massage session because of financial loss. They already borrowed huge amount and loan their property. They continue asking for our help especially to the brethren who are able. Any amount of help even how small it is will be gladly received.

I, together with my father, Julie Divine A. Notarte and my brothers in flesh, Joseph and Jonathan, visited and pray for him in their house in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. Slowly by slowly, his body is improving and he could walked using crutches. Brother Rudy's prayer was that he could back to preach again with us in different places. He is very useful in edifying the brethren and preaching the truth. For now, his sons, Edward Notarte and Jay Notarte are preaching in Tagum City church of Christ where brother Rudy labors for many years. On May 29, 2016, they were able to baptized 2 souls. We are thankful for their help in the work of their father. His wife, Josefina Notarte, was also sickly and undergo several medical operations. Please pray for them.

At night, we went to comfort the family of our bereaved relatives in Tagum City. Our auntie, Corazon Notarte, died. She is a cousin of my father Julie Divine A. Notarte. They are not members of the Church of Christ but many of them already heard us preaching the truth since we are always requested to preach to them in different occasions like this.
