We attended and helped in preaching the truth on a Gospel Meeting with brother Ron Halbrook at Kitakal church of Christ, Kitakal, Malungon, Sarangani Province. Rene Sandoval preached here but died in a vehicle accident few years ago. His widow Sel Sandoval is still faithful and young preachers like brother Feliciano Linao Jr. have been trained to continue the work.
Early morning, before brother Ron arrived, brother Hope Itdang and my father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, were requested to preach to maximize the time until 9:30 A.M. There were 177 total attendance including visitors from area churches and people who are not yet members of the Church of Christ. Brother Carlito Abella lead the singing. Brother Ron Halbrook preached 2 lessons and I (Joshua A. Notarte) was requested by sister Sel to translate the lessons (sentence by sentence) since many of the people attended were poorly educated and did not understand English well.
During the invitation song, 22 precious souls came forward to confess their faith and submit to Christ in baptism. We immediately went to the river and baptized them. After baptism, brother Jonathan Notarte read some scriptures to edify their faith. Please pray for our new brethren in Christ. We give all the glory to God!
