Gospel Meeting at Colonsabac church of Christ, Colonsabac, Matanao, Davao del Sur (9 SOULS BAPTIZED)

November 12, 2016

We have a responsibility to make sure the world knows the word of God. As God appointed Ezekiel as a watchman for the house of Israel, he said, "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul." (Ezekiel 3:17-19).

For many years, we have always been invited to be the speakers on the Gospel Meeting at Colonsabac church of Christ, Colonsabac, Matanao, Davaod del Sur where brother Rene Boy Bogoy preaches. This place is a known rebel and bandits area but after preaching the Gospel of Christ, many of them had already repented their sins and lived faithfully to God. There were more than 300 members in this congregation alone not included in the neighboring community.

I (Joshua A. Notarte), was one of the speakers who preached the word of God. Together with me were brother Dominguez Manife, Dionisio Tol, Jonathan Notarte and Julie Divine A. Notarte. Brother Joseph Notarte was not able to attend because of loose bowel movement. There were many brethren who attended and also alien sinners where many of them are rebels. They heard the Gospel through bible studies and the radio program of the Church of Christ where I and my brothers are preaching every Saturday night.

During the invitation song, 7 souls came forward but after the Gospel Meeting, 2 more had decided with a total of 9 SOULS. They were baptized by brother Rene Boy Bogoy at the river and we give all the glory to God. Their names are: 1. Ruben Bogoy, 2. Jeffrey Balawag, 3. Rafael Mino, 4. Ariel Canilan, 5. Mario Canilan, 6. Jordan Canilan, 7. Jun Canilan, 8. Devincia Samling, and 9. Maria Maro. Please pray for them. Some of them are rebels who decided to follow Jesus rather than being rebellious to our government. Many more are like them who already decided to surrender first of all to God by obeying His command. But due to an incident that a truck full of 200 rice sacks burned by some rebels at Manga, Matanao, Davao del Sur, many of them were afraid and remain in the mountain. They were not able to attend on this Gospel Meeting but we pray that God may help them find a way to obey the Gospel.
