A Gospel Preacher DIED - Brother Cleofas O. Carpio

December 2, 2015

Our brother in Christ and a Gospel preacher for many years, brother Cleofas O. Carpio, died on the night of December 1, 2015. This happened after he attended the preacher training class in J.P. Laurel Church of Christ, J.P. Laurel, Malungon, Sarangani Province. He was one of the most attentive in studying the bible that time and when he arrived home in Tibungoy, Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental, he went to the church building together with his wife and they sing spiritual songs. They used the new Cebuano Hymnal that we gave. According to her wife, sister Magdalena Carpio, brother Cleofas was rejoicing because of the lessons he learned and the new hymnal he received that edified their faith very much. But after few hours, he died.

Brother Cleofas was already a very old man. He is 92 years old but still preaching the truth and helped the work of God.

Please remember his wife, Magdalena Carpio, in your prayers. She is poor and needy. She need our help and loving comfort.

In the church building of the Church of Christ where brother Cleofas Carpio preached placed his remains. Other preachers who helped preaching in this congregation were brother Maximiano Pantil and David Telabangco. This night, they also preached here on the funeral service together with brother Pedrito Matampole, a preacher in J.P. Laurel church of Christ, J.P. Laurel, Malungon, Sarangani Province.

We arrived late in the evening because of electrical problems of our car. We need to repair it until the mechanic temporarily made a solution.

Brother Joseph A. Notarte lead the songs. Brother Jonathan A. Notarte and I cooperated in this work.

My father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, preached the word of God to comfort the family of brother Cleofas. They were thankful for the great message they heard.

Sister Magdalena Carpio sitting infront. She was crying because of the loss of her loving husband. We, ourselves, are witness in the last day on how they were closed together in living faithful to God and we are thankful because we believe that brother Cleofas died for the Lord and is now in a better place with God.
