Baptism at Davao del Sur Provincial Jail, Matti, Digos City, Davao del Sur (18 SOULS BAPTIZED)

April 7, 2016

It is our joy to report the labor which was made possible because of your prayers. As our work continued through weekly bible studies to the prisoners in Davao del Sur Provincial Jail (also known as Provincial Rehabilitation Center / PRC), Eighteen (18) precious souls submitted to baptism. To God be the Glory!

I, (Joshua A. Notarte), together with my co-preachers: Julie Divine A. Notarte, Joseph Notarte, Jonathan Notarte and Ben Dulong started to preach in this jail since April 2015 which caught the attention of many prisoners and even guilty criminals to attend, hear, believe, repent of their sins, confess Christ and obey the Gospel. We ensure to preach nothing else but Christ alone (1 Corinthians 2:1-5).

According to the Jail Warden Espinosa, many of them who attended our weekly bible studies have changed their lives for good. He observed that there was peace inside the jail the time we started our bible studies. We are very thankful for it and also to the jail administration in allowing us to preach the truth until many of them obey the truth and now members of the Church of Christ.

Before we started the baptism, my father, Julie Divine A. Notarte, preached first the word of God especially on the topic of Water Baptism and how urgent we have to obey the Gospel. We emphasized the joy and rejoicing together with many angels in heaven the time when sinners have been reconciled to God. (Luke 15) I was requested to lead the song entitled, "Oh Happy Day"

Brother Julie Divine A. Notarte baptized them. Their names are: 1. Jomar Callano, 2. Valentino Gales, 3. Remon Alipayo, 4. Joweno Rojas, 5. Cruz Monticalvo Jr., 6. Christian Alburo, 7. Wilson Algabre, 8. Samuel Mariano, 9. Julius Gacang, 10. Antonio Baron, 11. Eduardo Lasan (Paralized), 12. Rey Bartolome, 13. Federico Pavillion, 14. Diosdado Monsad, 15. Crispin Luda, 16. Gabriel Perocillo, 17. Jay Tillo, and 18. Region Agom. We give all the glory to God.

Please help us pray for our new brethren in Christ as they start to live Christian life. We saw their hard condition inside the jail and their problems. We do and we will do more what we can to help them strengthen in their faith. May God help them become mature into Christ. Please continue to pray for this work.
