Funeral Service of Brother Mariano Eman

April 9, 2016

Our dear brother in Christ, Mariano Eman, died on April 5, 2016 at the age of 75. According to his grandson who cared for him in Viacrusis Hospital in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, he has heart problems that maybe worsen by severe heat due to drought. He was very weak for several weeks but his family could not afford to buy his medicines and for proper medication because they are poor.

Brother Mariano Eman was converted in the Church of Christ 15 years ago through the help of brother Walan Aying. After that, he became active in preaching the truth and established several local congregations like in Lampagang church of Christ, Datal Tina church of Christ and in Canibong church of Christ where one of the "Commander" of NPA rebel was baptized. Even in his old age, he was still active in preaching the Gospel of Christ in the mountainous areas in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. The last time we met was in the Gospel Meeting at Upper Macabulos church of Christ, Upper Macabulos, San Miguel, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur on Feb. 13, 2016. He was also active in attending our monthly Preacher Training in Digos City church of Christ, Roxas Ext., Zone 3, Digos City. I believe that many preachers and brethren will miss him and will definitely remember his preaching that help to strengthen our faith. (2 Peter 1:12-15)

This picture was taken on April 22, 2014 during the Preacher Training at Digos City church of Christ. He was one of the speakers.

After our Gospel Meeting at Purok 5 church of Christ, Purok 5, Colonsabac, Matanao, Davao del Sur where 23 souls baptized, we went directly to Tagaytay, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur to preach on a funeral service where the remains of our brother, Mariano Eman, was laid. We comfort his family especially his wife and reminded them the request of brother Mariano before he died. That is "do not forsake the work of the Church that I started." My father, Julie Divine A. Notarte preached the word of God. Brother Joseph Notarte lead the songs and the preachers who cooperated where brother Jonathan Notarte, Renato Bogoy, Joey Bilang and I (Joshua A. Notarte). Please pray for his family.
